Sarnia Police investigating city’s second homicide in five days

City Police are investigating Sarnia’s second homicide of the New Year.

Police officers, paramedics and Sarnia fire arrived at a Lee Court residence at 12:30 a.m. today and found a woman there with serious injuries.

She was taken to hospital and later pronounced dead.

Police arrested a man at the scene. Joseph Dominic Dicarlo, 45, of Sarnia, has been charged with first-degree murder. The pair were known to each other, and there is no concern for public safety, police said.

The residence has been secured as am active crime scene, police said.

The homicide investigation is the second in Sarnia this year.

On Tuesday, city police arrested a man at a local motel in connection with the death of Luis Enrique Hernandez, 26, of Sarnia.

Hernandez was found injured in a residence in the 900 block of Confederation Street on Jan. 9 and later pronounced dead at hospital.

Timothy James Noj, 32, of Sarnia, has been charged with second-degree murder.
