The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation has handed out municipal revenue generated in the second-quarter – July 1 to Sept. 30.
Sarnia received $111,727 for hosting the Gateway Casinos at Hiawatha Horse Park on the Golden Mile.
The Village of Point Edward received a second-quarter non-tax revenue payment of $455,597 for hosting the Starlight Casino on the waterfront.
Over the past two decades Sarnia and has received more than $27 million and Point Edward nearly $50 million in gaming revenue.
Payments to host communities are based on a formula consistently applied across all gaming sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site, the OLG stated.
