Ryan McGregor enters the Sarnia Sting record book

Published on

A member of the Sarnia Sting has set a new club record.

Forward Ryan McGregor has now played the most regular season games in the Ontario Hockey League club’s 26-year history.

The 6-foot-1 centre suited up for his 268th career game on Jan. 18, surpassing the old mark set by John Hecimovic.

McGregor bounced back from an early season injury and tallied 48 points through the first 34 games.

He was a sixth-round pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2017 NHL Draft, and was invited to rookie camp with the Columbus Blue Jackets in September.
