Sarnia has hired a new senior administrator to oversee planning, building and bylaw enforcement.

When she starts on July 8, Stacey Forfar will have the title of director of Community Development Services and Standards, and also manage economic development for the city.

She replaces Alan Shaw, former director of Planning, Building and Bylaw Enforcement, who left on Feb. 1 to take a position with the City of Toronto.

Forfar is coming from the Town of Tecumseth in Simcoe County, where she managed development planning. Prior to that, she worked in various capacities for the cities of Barrie, Kingston and Saint John, New Brunswick.

She has a Master’s of Business Administration from the Royal Military College and an undergraduate degree in urban and regional planning.
