City Hall is consulting the public to determine whether cannabis retailers will be allowed to set-up shop in Sarnia.
Residents can voice their opinion online at www.speakupsarnia.ca/cannabis-retail-stores until Nov. 28.
The feedback will be used to inform council prior to the Jan. 28 decision deadline for Ontario municipalities.
Currently, cannabis can be purchased legally only online at the Ontario Cannabis Store. If council supports the provincial framework for private retailers, pot shops could be a reality in Sarnia next year.
