The Sarnia Police Service are reminding the public not to leave valuables in plain sight.

This month police responded to eight calls of thefts from cars parked at Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation area on Blackwell Side Road and the Suncor Trail located on Modeland Road north of Highway 402.

In all eight incidents thieves stole either a backpack or a purse. In seven of the cases, thieves gained entry by smashing vehicle windows.

Police are still investigating the thefts, and remind the public to report suspicious behaviour in the area.
