John Herdman, head coach of the Canadian Olympic Women’s soccer team, is the keynote speaker at this year’s Bluewater Health Foundation gala.
Herdman took a struggling squad and turned it into a team that won a bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Games and beat host Brazil 2-1 on Aug. 19 to win a second consecutive Olympic bronze at the Rio Games.
A nominee for the 2012 and 1015 FIFA Coach of Year award, he will speak about overcoming adversity with grace and the role of leaders to inspire success on and off the field.
This year’s gala is Thursday, Oct. 13 at the Holiday Inn. Funds raised will support diagnostic health and the purchase of a new CT scanner for the hospital.
