Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Sumac Lodge, Maria Romphf passed away at the age of 92. Loving mother of Christopher de Koning, Andrew de Koning (Christine) and Ken de Koning (Janice). Cherished grandmother of Chelsy and Syndey, and great-grandmother of Julia. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husbands Casey de Koning and Frank Romphf, parents Gerrit and Jaapja Sekeris and siblings Jannie Zylstra, Marg Reyneker, Will Vanderburge, Klas Sekeris, Pete Sekeris, Gerry Sekeris, Jan Vandersluis and Dicky Breedyk. Maria’s family would like to thank the staff at Sumac Lodge and Bluewater Health for their care and compassion. A graveside service will be held at Blackwell Cemetery, Sarnia, on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Sarnia and District Humane Society (cheques only at the funeral home please).
