Murphy, William "Bill" James passed peacefully with his family by his side at Vision Nursing Home, Sarnia, on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 in his 75th year.
Beloved husband of Barbara for 33 years. Loving father of Andrea (David Freeman), Leah (David Callistini), William (Susie) and devoted step-father of Brenda (David) Stegner, Ruth-Elen (Sean) Tisdale, Erin (Tim) Edgar. To his grandchildren he was Papa - Alex, Carlo, Jai, Nicolas, Peter (Sarah), Jennifer (Ryan), Matthew (Christine), Alissa, Kaitlyn, Victoria (Damian), Ryan (Sara), Sarah (Zack), Ashley (Ryan), Tyler (Maddie), Bradley and Owen. Great-grandchildren were very special - Jillian, Nicholas, Grayson, Jensen, Clark, Hayden, Addison, Charlie Mae, and Briggs.
Bill was the youngest of 10, born in Lindsay Ontario. Predeceased by parents William and Kathleen Murphy, brothers Jude, Michael and Charles and sister Dolly, brothers-in-law Terry O’Leary and Graham MacDonald and sister-in-law Annette. Survived by Patricia O’Leary, Lorraine MacDonald, Elizabeth Murphy, Dan (Brenda) Murphy and David (Nancy) Murphy.
Bill was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After retiring from the Toronto Stock Exchange as a Systems Analyst, he served many missions for his church. He loved spending time with his family and doing service for his community.

Cremation has taken place. A Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1400 Murphy Rd., Sarnia, on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. A light luncheon will follow.
