Peacefully at Rosewood Manor, Anna DeCarolis died on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Pasquale DeCarolis (2005). Loving mother of Maria Cicchini and her husband Luigi, Dino DeCarolis and his wife Rosanna. Proud Nonna of Laura and her husband Bill, Melissa and her husband Kevin, Gina, Alexa and Daniel. Cherished great-grandmother to Ava, Adam, Andrew and Celia. Anna is predeceased by her parents Erminio and Vittoria Iacobelli. Anna is the sister of the late Leonello Iacobelli and his wife Maria, the late Onorio Iacobelli and his wife Onoria, Adelaide Greco and her late husband Augusto, the late Iolanda DeCarolis and her late husband Giovanni, the late Orlando Iacobelli and his late wife Violanda, Maria Esposito and her husband Romano. Anna is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Immigrating to Canada in 1954 with her family, she was then joined by the love of her life Pasquale shortly after. Together they started their 50 year journey of love, raising their 2 children and watching as their family blossomed. Anna was a devoted mother and grandmother and spending time with them gave her great joy. She enjoyed cooking and playing bingo. Anna had a beautiful voice and sang in the church choir for several years. She enjoyed telling her stories, sharing the history of the family. Anna was a member of the Dante club and the Italian Pensioners Club. She was a long-time employee of Steeves & Rozema. Anna will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Rosewood Manor for their compassionate care of Anna over the last few years.
Visitation will be held at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia on Sunday, April 28, 2024, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Monday, April 29th at 11 a.m. Prayers will be offered at 8:30 p.m. Entombment to follow at Our Lady of Mercy Mausoleum.
