Lionel Carter died peacefully on April 15, 2024. He was born on Nov 15, 1939, in Winnipeg, Manitoba the youngest child of Charles Gregory Carter and the only child of Ina Marie Carter.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Monica Carter and his three sons and their wives Kevin (Sandra), Phil (Anne) and Mark (Kelly). He was the beloved grandfather of Jessica (Joel), Tyson, Ethan, Brett, Jillian and Eric and the great-grandfather of Jade.

Lionel loved and played sports including his favourite, hockey. Lionel had a life full of careers including; farming, car sales, ministerial endeavours, door-to-door sales and teaching. He and Monica owned a campground and 3 hardware stores over many years. He served faithfully with the Rotary Club of Canada and was a Paul Harris Fellow. He lived his faith and he loved his church and his Toronto Maple Leafs.

We hope Lionel can lace up the skates again in heaven and his team can get their act together.

A Funeral Service will be conducted at Gilpin Funeral Chapel. Located at 183 Broad Street, Parkhill, on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at noon. With visitation one hour prior. Interment to follow at Parkhill Cemetery.
