Spring may have officially arrived this week, but winter is not quite over in Sarnia-Lambton, according to Friday’s forecast.

The region is under a winter weather travel advisory that warns of up to 10 cm of snow, reduced visibility, and hazardous driving conditions.

Environment Canada says Friday’s light slow should intensify in the afternoon or evening, before tapering off from west to east late Friday night.

There is also a risk of freezing rain for areas near Lake Erie this evening.

“The snow may have a significant impact on the evening commute in more urban areas,” the weather agency stated. “Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance.
