Charges laid in overnight stabbing at River City shelter

A 24-year-old Sarnia man has been charged in connection to an overnight stabbing at River City Vineyard, police say.

“On March 23, shortly after midnight, police received information that an altercation had occurred between two adult males, resulting in the victim being stabbed multiple times,” Sarnia Police said in a news release. “The victim, a 51-year-old Sarnia resident was transported to Bluewater Health for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.”

The suspect was located at the scene and arrested. He faces charges of assault with a weapon; assault causing bodily harm; and failure to comply with a probation order.

He was held for bail and remanded into custody, until his next court appearance on March 27, 2024.
