The pull of home proved too strong for Blake Pearson.
The family physician had job opportunities in other Ontario communities and beyond Canada as well, but has chosen to hang his shingle at the Rapids Family Health Team, said Carly Nienhuis, of the Physician Recruitment Taskforce of Sarnia Lambton.
Dr. Pearson, originally from Corunna, is now accepting patients and will start full time in mid-October from his office at 1150 Pontiac Dr. in Sarnia. Applications are available at the reception desk.
The taskforce has now recruited 21 family doctors, but many more are expected to retire over the next two to five years.
