One of Sarnia’s oldest cultural traditions returns on April 25 when the Lambton County Music Festival will once again fills church halls and schools with the sound of music.

The 87th annual festival runs Monday to Friday for two weeks and features entrants of all ages vying for cash prizes and more than 80 trophies.

Programs sell for $3 and can be picked up at Van Goozen Music or at the door of the venues. There is no admission charge to watch but donations are appreciated.

Categories cover a range of music from bands to barbershop and piano to choirs.

Thanks to the generosity of donors and volunteers, The Lambton County Music Festival is the longest running in Canada without outside funding.

The festival best entrants go on to perform at a Highlights Concert at SCITS auditorium on Tuesday, May 17.

Admission is $3 for adults, $1 for students and children.
