Music festival returns next week

Published on

One of Sarnia’s oldest cultural traditions returns April 20 when participants in the Lambton County Music Festival begin filling church halls and schools with the sound of music.

Nearly 500 contestants have signed up for the two-week festival, now in its 86th year.

Entrants are of all ages and vie for prize money and more than 80 trophies. They also receive critiques from adjudicators, with the top three in each category announced immediately.

Categories cover a range of music from bands to barbershop and piano to choirs.

The best go on to perform at the Stars of the Festival Concert on May 12 at SCITS, starting at 7 p.m.

Admission is $2 for adults, $1 for students.
