Mooretown Flags name new head coach

Published on

Doug Slipacoff is the new head coach of the Mooretown Flags of the Great Lakes Junior “C” Hockey League. He replaces Blake Morrison, who took over early in the season after the Flags faltered to a 2-6-1 start under coach Gino Vitella.

Slipacoff won a Weir Cup championship with the Petrolia Jets in 2003 and an NCAA Division III national championship with Neumann University, near Philadelphia, in 2009.

Previously, Slipacoff was an assistant coach with Bowling Green University and with the Lambton Shores Predators of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League and was a head coach with the Lambton Jr. Sting Minor Midgets for the 2011-12 season.
