Sarnia’s Michael Marinaro and partner Kirsten Moore-Towers finished seventh in pairs at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships last week.
Marinaro and Moore-Towers were in fifth place and not far off a podium position following the short program, but came up short in the long program.
“It wasn’t our day, I suppose, we’re not really sure,” Moore-Towers, from St. Catharines, told Skate Canada.
“We were so prepared. Our mindset was perfect all week. We were so ready and excited. Our warm-up was perfect. Unfortunately it didn’t work out.”
Canadian teammates Evelyn Walsh and Trennt Michaud were 12th.
A pair from China won gold and a Russia took second and third.
