Liam and Olivia are the most popular baby names in Ontario.
Olivia was followed by Emma, Charlotte, Amelia and Ava as the top five girls names registered in 2018, according to the Office of the Registrar General.
Olivia may end up as the top baby name of the decade. More than 8,300 baby girls were named Olivia between January 2010 and December 2018, the most recent year for which stats are available.
Among boys, the most popular names were Liam followed by Noah, Lucas, William and Benjamin.
The year before, Noah was the top boys name followed by Benjamin, Liam, William and Logan.
The most popular Ontario names of all time are Marie and Joseph, according to the province, which has began recording baby names 101 years ago.
