Lambton College will move to remote learning Wednesday afternoon in light of a winter weather forecast calling for freezing rain and possible power outages.

“Due to the inclement weather advisory that has been issued in the Sarnia-Lambton region over the next 48 hours, and out of an abundance of caution, Lambton College in Sarnia has made the decision to move all college course delivery to remote learning as of 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22 and all day Thursday, Feb. 23,” the college announced late Tuesday. “Faculty will connect with their students on specific course information and delivery details.”

Cancellations are inclusive to all classes and services at the Lambton College Fire School, Skilled Trades Training Centre, and EarlyON Child and Family Centre, the college added, directing students to myLambton.ca for updates and/or changes to services.

The Cestar Group Athletics & Fitness Complex and Fitness Centre will also be closed, while the college will remain open for student use and scheduled community activities.

The Community Employment Services office in Petrolia will also be closed at 4:30 p.m.

Regular College operations will resume, weather depending, Friday, February 24, 2023.

“We ask that all our students, staff, and community members stay safe and check your local weather advisory before travelling.”
