Research and development in Sarnia got a boost when the federal government gave $505,000 to Lambton College for four tech initiatives.
Lambton’s grant was the third largest of 86 awards Ottawa doled out from its applied research tools and instrumentation program, a sign of the college’s growing stature in applied research.
The money will be used for a water analysis lab, nano-engineered materials, a new monitoring system and improvements at the Bluewater Technology Access Centre.
Last fall, the college announced $5 million in funding for collaborative R&D with 12 industry partners.
