Sarnia’s Integrity Commissioner has dismissed a citizen complaint filed against three city councillors.
Margaret Bird alleged Councillors Bev MacDougall, Cindy Scholten and Andy Bruziewicz had made disparaging comments about her following a budget input meeting on Nov. 14.
A videotaping of the meeting remained live after it adjourned and captured comments and gestures made by the three councillors.
In dismissing the complaint, Integrity Commissioner Robert Swayze said the city’s code of conduct had not been breached.
The councillors’ comments were intended to be private, and the few gestures made were in response to Bird’s inflammatory presentation, the Commissioner said.
