Garden plot

While weeds are a constant battle, a lot of old gardeners are disappearing. Gary Baillie, of Sarnia spent a lot of time gardening at home plus in a community garden on East Street beside the firehall. He said at one time there were too many gardeners for the plot, but now there doesn't seem to be that many community gardeners. For the past 10 years he's been gardening at the community plot where he has grown a healthy variety of vegetables for family and friends.

"Rabbits come out at night to eat the lettuce," he said adding that coyotes help keep the rabbit population under control.
