COVID-19 UPDATE: New cases starting to appear in Sarnia-Lambton

The number of COVID-19 cases in Sarnia-Lambton has taken an uptick over the past week.

After going 10 days without a new case, Lambton Public Health has recorded four new cases since July 14, including one more Sunday.

The county now has five active cases. None of those infected are being treated in hospital.

More than 15,000 test results have now been received, including almost 900 over the past week. The percentage coming back positive continues to fall and is now 1.9%, Lambton Public Health said this morning.

It is taking an average of 2.3 days from the time of testing to reporting the results.

The number of people infected in Sarnia-Lambton since March now stands at 290, with 25 deaths, a number unchanged since early June.

As of this morning, Ontario had recorded 37,604 cases and 2,751 deaths.
