The number of COVID-19 cases in Sarnia-Lambton rose to 167 today, an increase of two from Saturday, Lambton Public Health reports.
The number of people who have recovered from the virus increased by four, to 77.
Local health officials say the priority for local testing is people showing symptoms and all residents and staff in long-term care facilities and retirement homes, including those who do not have symptoms.
A new outbreak was declared at Vision Nursing Home in Sarnia this week after two staff members of the long-term care home tested positive.
At Sarnia’s Landmark Village retirement home, 30 residents have tested positive with six deaths. Nine staff members have also been infected.
