Coronavirus update for Friday, May 8

Journal Staff The rate of COVID-19 infection in Sarnia-Lambton is continuing to ease, with no new cases reported by Lambton Public Health this morning. One more person has recovered, bringing the total to 127. The number of deaths is unchanged at 16.

The rate of COVID-19 infection in Sarnia-Lambton is continuing to ease, with no new cases reported by Lambton Public Health this morning.

One more person has recovered, bringing the total to 127. The number of deaths is unchanged at 16.

Bluewater Health is currently treating seven patients confirmed to have COVID-19, the lowest number since the hospital’s caseload peaked in early April.

One outbreak is still under way Vision Nursing Home in Sarnia, where four residents and two staff have tested positive.

Two residents of the home, in their 70s and 80s, died this week.
