Sarnia could be getting its first legal pot shop.
A retail cannabis application from a company called Natures Buds under review for a Sarnia storefront, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario says.
The proposed location is 1362 Lambton Mall Rd., unit 20.
Recreational cannabis became legal in Canada on Oct. 17, 2018.
Sarnia-Lambton applicants were overlooked twice in 2019 by the Commission’s lottery software program.
To legally sell recreational cannabis, operators must meet eligibility standards that include a licensed manager. The store layout and location must be approved and residents must have an opportunity to provide input.
