College secures research grants

Published on

Lambton College has received a pair of federal grants to boost research and development.

The college’s Lambton Energy Research Centre is getting $2.3 million over five years to help turn projects involving green and renewable energy into commercial opportunities.

The money will help the centre work with industry on pilot plant studies, grid management and how to best store and distribute energy.

Lambton is also receiving $150,000 for a high-performance spectrometer system to research bio-industrial processes, said Sarnia-Lambton MP Marilyn Gladu, the first female engineer elected to Parliament.
