City schools win cross-country titles

The Bright’s Grove public school Bulldogs won a division team title and finished second in three others at the recent Lambton Kent Elementary School Athletic Association Cross Country Championship.

The Rosedale Royals also won a team title, while finishing second and third in two others at the event, held at the United Church Centre near Forest.

Individually, Tanner Winegard and Dylan Riddell of Bright’s Grove won the boys nine-year-old and 13-year-old categories, Aiden James of Cathcart Boulevard won the girls 11-year-old race, while Gabrielle Jones of Bridgeview and Mackenzie Baldwin of Rosedale placed first in the girls nine-year-old and 10-year-old categories respectively.

Nearly 650 competitors from schools in Sarnia-Lambton and Chatham-Kent took part.
