City hosting public information sessions for municipal election

Journal Staff City Hall says it is organizing four public information sessions to explain how Internet and telephone voting will work during the Oct. 22 municipal election.

City Hall says it is organizing four public information sessions to explain how Internet and telephone voting will work during the Oct. 22 municipal election.

For the first time, voting in Sarnia will be by Internet and telephone only between Oct. 11 and Oct. 22. Ballots can be cast from anywhere via a telephone, computer, cell phone, iPad, tablet or laptop.

The information sessions will be held:

WEDNESDAY, JULY 11: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Clearwater Arena, Lower Hall, 1400 Wellington St.

TUESDAY, AUG. 14: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Clearwater Arena, Lower Hall, 1400 Wellington St.

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 19: 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., City Hall, Council Chambers, 255 Christina St. N.

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 19: 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., City Hall, Council Chambers, 255 Christina St. N.

Those who need assistance casting ballots, or don’t have an Internet connection, can visit help centres during the voting period located at:

City Hall, Oct. 11 to Oct. 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays, and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for Internet and telephone voting assistance

City Hall, Monday, Oct. 22, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. for Internet and telephone voting assistance

Clearwater Arena, St. Patrick’s High School, and Bright’s Grove Public School, Monday, Oct. 22, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. for Internet voting assistance.
