City high schools set the pace at cross country regionals

Sarnia high schools will send six team teams to the all-Ontario cross country championships after posting strong results at the Southwest regional finals on Oct. 23.

Northern Collegiate is sending four teams to provincials — novice boys and senior boys, and novice girls and senior girls — after each finished in the top two at SWOSSA in Windsor.

St. Patrick’s also had two teams qualify, novice girls and junior boys.

Also qualifying were three individual runners from St. Pat’s: Connor Bracewell (novice boys), Lulu Owens (junior girls) and Owen Norland (senior boys).

Nearly 600 athletes from 15 secondary schools in Southwestern Ontario participated in the meet.
