Christmas organ music series returns to historic church

Lovers of organ music can enjoy some of this area’s finest when the 11 th annual Advent Organ Series returns Nov. 28 to historic Central United Church, 220 George St. The weekly series features free, half-hour concerts beginning at 12 noon.

The weekly series features free, half-hour concerts beginning at 12 noon. All are welcome; a freewill offering is appreciated.

This could be the final chance to hear the region’s largest pipe organ. With the church slated to close in 2020 the fate of its 121-year-old Casavant organ is still unknown.

The series includes:

NOV. 28 - William Lupton, of Huron University College and St. Martin-in-the- Fields, London

DEC. 5 – Gerald Vreman, organist with Centre Street Baptist Church, St. Thomas, and Ken Baldwin, trumpet, First St. Andrew’s United, London.

DEC. 12 - Angus Sinclair, freelance organist from London,

DEC. 19 - David Troiano, of St. Clare of Montefalco, Grosse Point Park, Michigan.
