Employers planning to hire students for the summer can apply now for federal assistance.
The Canada Summer Jobs program provides wage subsidies to small businesses, not-for-profits and public sector employers that hire full-time students aged 15 to 30 who are returning to school.
Applicants this year will be required to attest that the job and organization’s core mandate respect Canadian rights, including reproductive rights and freedom from discrimination based on race, religion, disability, sexual orientation and gender identity.
Deadline for applications is Feb. 2 and the earliest job start date is April 23.
