The city is looking into whether provincial grants can be used to reinstate Greyhound bus service between Sarnia and London.
Hopes were raised last week after a senior vice-president at Greyhound Canada contacted Mayor Mike Bradley.
The province has announced a grant program for inter-city bus service that allows municipalities to make joint bids to cover the cost.
A staff report is expected for the Feb. 26 city council meeting, just two days before the deadline for applications.
