Paying in U.S. dollars to cross the Blue Water Bridge is about to get a little more expensive.

The Federal Bridge Corporation Limited said starting April 1 the passenger vehicle toll rate in U.S. funds is rising to $3.25 from $3. The Canadian toll remains unchanged at $4.

Commercial and extra axle rates also rise by 25 cents (US) per trip.

The adjustment reflects the average daily currency exchange rate over the previous six-month period, said the Corporation, which owns, manages and operates the international bridges in Point Edward, Sault Ste. Marie, Thousand Islands and Cornwall, Ont.
