Young people seeking volunteer hours can explore various opportunities all under one roof this month.
Lambton Mall is hosting a Youth Volunteer Expo on Saturday Sept. 23, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
One Tomato, St. Clair Child and Youth and Rebound will be among 30 organizations onsite with opportunities available.
“When students volunteer they take pride in what they do,” said coordinator Karen Minty. “They start to take ownership, they start to take care of their cause or their work.”
‘Swag bags’ are available to the first 50 attendees.
High school students in Ontario require 40 volunteer hours in order to graduate.
