The local YMCA has received provincial funding to expand its child-care centre at the Learning and Career Centre on Oakdale Avenue.
When complete, the renovation will add 10 infant and 15 toddler spaces to the facility’s current 16 preschool spaces, as well as a new kitchen.
“This funding will allow the YMCA to triple their child-care capacity at this location,” said Joelle Rinker, VP of children’s educational services.
Construction has begun with completion expected in March.
