An application to have the Oil Springs Industrial Landscape designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site will be discussed at the Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery on April 7.

Representatives from Lambton County and Fairbanks Oil Fields will be available during First Friday festivities in downtown Sarnia to share information about the joint application.

Securing such a designation for the historic working oil fields, which are already a National Historic Site, would ensure its heritage is preserved for generations to come, the county says.
