A handful of Sarnia residents are celebrating after a pair of lottery wins this month, including one lucky couple’s second time with a winning ticket.

Claire Garner won the top prize of $75,000 playing the Instant Cashingo game, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation announced recently.

The win comes following a $250,000 prize she and her husband shared back in 2017, playing the ‘Instand Super Money Mulitplier.’

“Both of my winning tickets were purchased at the same store,” Garner stated in a news release, which confirmed the ticket was bought at Point Variety on MIchigan Ave. in Point Edward. “I said, ‘I won again!’ He believed me right away.”

Garner told OLG she plans to save most of her winnings and buy something nice for herself.

“It’s nice to know you don’t have to worry because there’s a cushion behind you,” she said.

Meanwhile, a group of five co-workers from Lambton will share a $173,957 prize after winning a Lotto Max second prize in the April 7, 2023 draw.

Members of the group, who work in the engineering industry, include Anthony Fanelli of Sarnia; Morag Churchill of Sarnia; Neil Font of Camlachie; Robert McNeil of Bright’s Grove; and Tyrone Green of Bright’s Grove.

The winning ticket was purchased at Seo Mini Mart on Exmouth Street in Sarnia.

“Everyone gets a copy of the ticket, but I checked it first,” Green said in an OLG news release. “I checked the numbers, and I couldn’t believe it. I thought, “What are the odds of that?”

The group members have various plans for their portions of the windfall, OLG said.

“Tony plans to complete some home renovations, Neil plans to purchase a new bike, and Rob would like to put some of his win towards his family’s university studies.”
