Kiwanis Speaker

All Candidates Reception

Hosted by the Sarnia-Lambton Real Estate Board from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Imperial City Brew House, 1330 London Road. Candidates invited from across Sarnia-Lambton for an informal reception.

Fossil Club

The Sarnia Rock & Fossil Club hosts a “hands on” lapidary workshop to make cabochons, at New Horizons Community Church, 7:30 p.m. Check out the group’s Facebook page for more info.

SATURDAY, OCT. 15

Walk-a-Thon

The Helping Hands walk-a-thon (2, 5, or 10km) to raise money for Neighbourlink Sarnia-Lambton, begins at 3 p.m. at Sarnia Christian School followed by a BBQ. The first 25 people to raise $500 receive a new windbreaker jacket. Neighbourlink helps community members in need, through food, food vouchers, gently used beds and bedding, and help in avoiding utility disconnects, rent evictions. Colour & Craft Festival

The annual Lambton Fall & Colour Craft Festival returns to Lambton Heritage Museum Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with local vendors, face painting, broom-making demonstrations and a free, family friendly craft. Admission is $5, children under 12 are free. More info at lambtonmuseums.ca/fall-colour.

Halloween Dance

The Sarnia Ballroom Dancing Club hosting a Halloween dance from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Sarnia Legion. Open to the public; $30 per couple, $20 for member couples. For more info, visit www.sarniaballroomdancingclub.ca

Fall Reforestation Project

Climate Action Sarnia-Lambton (CASL) in cooperation with the City of Sarnia, invites community members to Wiltshire Park, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for the planting of trees, low shrubs and mulching, to help change urban turf into mini-forests. Adults and youth welcome; bring work gloves, shovels and strong footwear. Rain date Oct. 16.

CineSarnia film

CineSarnia will be showing The Father starring Anthony Hopkins and directed by Florian Zeller, at the Sarnia Library Theatre at 2:00 p.m. and Monday, October 17 at 7:30 p.m. More information, advance tickets and season passes are available at cinesarnia.com. Rush tickets available at the door 15 minutes before the film (Sunday, Oct. 16 @ 1:45 p.m. and Monday, Oct. 17 @ 7:15) for $12.
