A dead crow found in Sarnia’s north end in early August has tested positive for West Nile Virus. The virus is spread through the bite of mosquitos, which have largely been kept in check this summer by dry weather.

The virus is spread through the bite of mosquitos, which have largely been kept in check this summer by dry weather.

It’s the first evidence this year West Nile is present, Lambton Public Health said. Tracking is done through dead bird reporting, mosquito trap testing and detection in people through health system monitoring.
