Historical walking tours that tell stories from downtown Sarnia’s past will take place Aug. 15 and 22.

Stops on the 75-minute tour highlight places known for their ghosts, crimes, business dealing and tourism allure during the jazz age.

The heritage committee and a planning department summer student have organized the tours using information from the Lambton County Archives and online sources.

Participants should gather at the City Hall fountain at 6:30 p.m. A $5 donation is encouraged.

The committee plans to eventually transcribe the stories and post them online so the public can take virtual tours on their own.
