Lambton County Library cardholders can now borrow walking poles for a seven-day loan period through the Library’s Active Living Lifestyle collection.

“These new walking pole kits will give borrowers a chance to try them out and use them while walking on trails, beaches, or even just the sidewalk,” said Kevin Coates, Public Services Coordinator, Collections. “When used correctly, walking poles can engage more muscle groups than walking without poles, and provide other advantages like allowing for improved balance and protecting critical joints from impact.”

Each walking pole kit contains two walking poles, pole holders, pole tips, mud baskets and an instructional card.

The kits can be borrowed for seven days and cannot be renewed.

The Library’s Active Living Lifestyle collection also includes seasonal day-use permits for Ontario Parks, snowshoes, pedometers, and GPS units, all available to borrow with a Lambton County library card.

Library materials can be reserved using the online catalogue at lclibrary.ca or by calling any library location during opening hours.

To become a Lambton County Library cardholder, visit your local library, call 519-845-3324 ext. 5266 (toll-free 1-866- 324-6912 ext. 5266), or email [email protected].
