Residents still have time to cast their votes to decide Sarnia’s Official Bird.

Bird Friendly Sarnia — a group of bird-enthusiasts working toward’s certifying Sarnia as a ‘bird friendly city’ — is holding the contest, which invites voters to choose from one of five finalists: the red-headed woodpecker; tufted titmouse; ring-billed gull; Coopers hawk or black-capped chickadee.

The winner we be revealed as Sarnia’s Official Bird during an event at Canatara Park on May 13.

Bird Friendly Sarnia, Friends of Canatara, Lambton Wildlife Inc. and Bluewater Centre for Raptor Rehabilitation will host a celebration of "World Migratory Bird Day" in the Kiwanis Log Cabin.

The event will include birdwatching, nature walks, educational displays, and a Merlin app demonstration at the Canatara log cabin.
