Vet’s parking gets green light

The City of Sarnia is quickly rolling out newly-approved parking spaces for veterans only.

It’s hoped that by Remembrance Day, designated parking spaces will be marked with signage at Sarnia Arena, Bayshore parking lot across from the Legion, the Progressive Auto Sales Arena and Jackson Pool parking lot next to Germaine Park and the Strangway Centre.

As a show of respect for their service, veterans with provincially issued veteran’s licence plates will be able to park closer to their destination.

City hall’s parking lot will not have a veteran’s-only parking space due to a general lack of parking in the area. The lots that were chosen are significantly larger.
