Johnny Vanos of the Sarnia Athletics Southwest Track and Field Club won gold in the youth discus division at the recent Athletics Ontario Bantam, Midget and Youth Track and Field Championships in Windsor.
His winning throw of 48.10 metres was a personal best.
Meanwhile, Mackenzie Mullen took bronze in the youth girls hammer throw at the same competition with a throw of 41.27 metres, and Zion Webb won a silver in the youth boys shot put with a put of 15.47 metres, and was fourth in the youth boys discus with a throw of 44.30 metres.
Both of Webb’s performances were personal bests, said coach Joel Skinner.
