Eligibility for book a COVID-19 vaccination appointment is being expanded to more Sarnia-Lambton residents, Lambton Public Health said.

Starting today, Group 2 essential frontline workers who can’t work from home, including grocery story, restaurant, transportation and construction workers, can book a shot.

And starting on Thursday, residents age 40 and older (or turning 40 in 2021) can register.

You must live or work in Lambton County to be eligible to get a shot here, the health unit says.

People with high-risk health conditions such as dementia and diabetes may also continue to register.

To book an appointment, visit the Lambton Public Health registration page, at https://lambtonpublichealth.ca/ Residents are asked to be patient as clinics book quickly.

The local Vaccine Call Centre runs Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 226-254-8222.

Ontario has said second doses earlier than the four-month wait period will soon be available for high-risk health-care workers, dialysis patients and First Nations, Inuit and Metis individuals. Booking details are in the works and more information will be available soon.

Meanwhile, for the second straight day Lambton Public Health reported just four new cases today, bringing the number of active cases down to 73.
