Sarnia-Lambton residents can now register for a daily vaccine standby list, Lambton Public Health said today.

Due to an increase in vaccine supplies as well as appointment cancellations and no-shows, the health unit has launched a daily registration portal for anyone interested in a last minute shot.

Those eligible to receive a first or second dose of an approved mRNA vaccine ((Moderna and Pfizer) can complete an online form daily, provided they can travel to a vaccine clinic within 30 minutes on that same day.

To register, visit the Lambton Public Health website: https://s-ca.chkmkt.com/?e=236433&h=CFC37BF32908894&l=en

People on the list are contacted by phone and invited for a vaccine when an appointment becomes available. Once all standby doses are administered, the names are deleted and a new list starts the following day.

People must sign up daily to be considered.

Residents ages 12 to 17 called for a standby dose will receive the Pfizer, vaccine, and those age 18 and up could receive either mRNA vaccine.
