Sarnia-Lambton has three new cases of COVID-19, Lambton Public Health reported this morning.

A total of 302 people have now been infected since the pandemic begin in March. One more person (265) has recovered.

The community now has 12 active cases, a number that has doubled in a week. None of those who tested positive are being treated at Bluewater Health.

Lambton’s emergency control group said it has been anticipating an increase in cases given the increased socializing allowed in Stage 3 of Ontario’s reopening plan.

The group reminds residents to continue practicing the measures used to protect yourself and others: social distancing, proper hand hygiene, staying home when sick, and wearing a mask where required and when physical distancing isn’t possible.
