United Way reaches half-way point of fundraising campaign

The United Way campaign has reached the $1-million mark, which is half way to the 2017 fundraising target. “The campaign started off slower in September compared to years past but momentum has picked up,” said campaign chair Vicky Ducharme.

“The campaign started off slower in September compared to years past but momentum has picked up,” said campaign chair Vicky Ducharme.

“We are lagging behind last year’s pace but we have a renewed confidence going into the second half of our campaign.”

Letters are currently being mailed to donors who have given in the past but not yet committed.

And November features the 10th annual Locally Lambton Dinner and Auction, at the Lambton College Event Centre. The dinner showcases locally grown and produced foods prepared by Lambton College Chef Alastair Mackay and his culinary management students.

Tickets for the Nov. 18 event can be purchased at United Way of Sarnia-Lambton’s office at 420 East St. North.

United Way funds 35 programs and services in Lambton County.
